Yemen’s PetroMasila Restarts Operations After Security Halt in Hadramout
Hadramout — PetroMasila, Yemen’s largest oil producer, declared on Saturday that it has resumed pumping and production operations from its oil fields in Hadramout following a temporary shutdown caused by deteriorating security conditions earlier this month.
The company confirmed that production activities at Block 14 and Block 10, which had been halted due to armed clashes and tribal incursions, are now back online.
PetroMasila stated that the decision to restart operations came after local authorities and tribal leaders reached security arrangements ensuring the safety of workers and infrastructure.
Officials in Hadramout emphasized that the resumption of oil output is vital for both the national economy and the local energy supply, as the suspension had disrupted gas fuel deliveries to power stations in the Hadramout Valley.
The shutdown had led to a gradual decline in electricity generation capacity, affecting communities across the governorate.
PetroMasila’s management expressed appreciation for the efforts of local security forces and community leaders in restoring stability around the oil installations.
The company reiterated its commitment to maintaining safe operations and contributing to Yemen’s economic recovery.
