Southern Forces Repel Al-Qaeda Attack in Yemen’s Shabwa
Shabwa – Southern armed forces repelled a militant attack launched by Al-Qaeda elements on Saturday evening against their military positions in Shabwa province, southern Yemen.
Military sources reported that Al-Qaeda fighters carried out simultaneous assaults using mortar shells and sniper fire, targeting southern forces stationed in al-Jubail, al-Hajr, and al-Qan‘a areas of al-Musayni‘ah, administratively part of al-Saeed district.
The sources confirmed that southern units successfully countered the attacks, responding with heavy fire that forced the militants to retreat, with no casualties reported among the southern forces.
