new UN-brokered talk between the Yemeni fighting sides and other relevant parties hasn’t been successful to reach any deal, said UN Special Envoy for Yemen Martin Griffiths on Wednesday.
The newly-finished talk, which happened in Saudi Arabia and Oman, intended to install a truce across Yemen, comprising in the central province of Marib, where the Houthi militants have been conducting massive attacks on the governmental forces since February.
Griffiths noted in a written report: "we have been discussing these issues for over a year now ... Unfortunately, we are not where we would like to be in reaching a deal."
He further said: "I will keep engaging the parties to the conflict and all involved and concerned actors and stakeholders to offer them opportunities to find common grounds to help advance the peace efforts."
