Following the successive Houthi violations during the past days, especially in Taiz and Hodeidah governorates, the United Nations reiterated the importance of adhering to the truce.
The office of the UN Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, affirmed that the United Nations will continue to facilitate participation between the Yemeni parties and support them to fulfill their obligations towards the truce declared in the country.
He also explained , friday, in a statement via his official account on Twitter that the United Nations will continue to "urge the Yemeni parties to continue to engage with each other on military issues through the Military Coordination Committee.
Meetings in Amman
In addition, he indicated that the members of the committee held bilateral meetings with the military advisor to the United Nations Special Envoy in the Jordanian capital, Amman, from August 29 to September 1, to discuss issues related to coordination and the next steps for the committee's work.
This reminder of the importance of the truce came, after the Houthis escalated their attacks during the past weeks and days in Taiz Governorate, and launched a large-scale military attack on the Al-Dhabab area, west of the city.
