Yemen’s Houthi rebels stated that they are looking for a long-lasting truce in the conflict-torn Arab nation.
“We are working to get to a clear stage in Yemen where we can reach a truce or a permanent cease-fire,” rebel representative Mohammed Abdul-Salam informed the Houthi-run Al-Masirah TV.
He stated that his group has offered its opinions to Omani intermediaries.
The Gulf nation of Oman is intermediating among the Yemeni administration as well as Houthi rebels in Yemen.
Abdul-Salam stated that “Any solution of the Yemen crisis must be based on disbursing employee salaries from oil and gas revenues, according to the 2014 budget.”
“Any upcoming solution must also include the opening of airports, ports and roads, in addition to the release of all prisoners and fully addressing the humanitarian issue,” he also mentioned.
The Houthi representative also urged for “a quick end to the humanitarian crisis in Yemen, away from military and political issues."
