Yemen's Houthi group announced wednesday that it will continue military operations against Israel, day after U.S. President Donald Trump declared a ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel. 

In a statement posted on social media, Mohammed al-Bukhaiti, a senior member of the Houthi political bureau, said the ceasefire “proves that military force is the only language understood by America and the Zionist entity.” He emphasized that Houthi attacks would persist “until the aggression on Gaza ends and the siege is lifted”.

The announcement came just day after U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed that both Iran and Israel had agreed to halt hostilities following a series of devastating strikes on Iranian nuclear and military sites, and retaliatory missile attacks on Israeli and U.S. targets.

The Houthis, who have launched dozens of missile and drone attacks toward Israel since the Gaza conflict escalated in late 2023, appear determined to maintain their military campaign in solidarity with Palestinians.
