Al-Jawf — A woman was killed in the Al-Masloub district of Al-Jawf province, northeastern Yemen, after a landmine explosion attributed to Houthi forces struck on Wednesday.

Local sources reported that the victim was walking near farmland when the device detonated, instantly killing her. Residents rushed to the scene but were unable to save her life.

The incident underscores the ongoing danger posed by landmines and improvised explosive devices scattered across conflict zones in Yemen. 

Human rights groups have repeatedly accused the Houthis of planting mines in civilian areas, leading to dozens of casualties, particularly among women and children.

Al-Jawf province has witnessed repeated tragedies of this kind, with landmines continuing to hinder farming, travel, and daily life for residents. 

Activists are calling for urgent international intervention to clear contaminated areas and hold those responsible accountable.

The latest death adds to Yemen’s mounting civilian toll, as the war continues to devastate communities across the country.
