Riyadh – In a formal diplomatic ceremony held in Riyadh, Ambassador Ihab Ahmed Abu Sarea of the Arab Republic of Egypt officially presented his credentials to Dr. Rashad Mohammed Al-Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council of the Republic of Yemen.
The presentation marks the beginning of Ambassador Abu Sarea’s tenure as Egypt’s top envoy to Yemen, reinforcing the historic ties and strategic cooperation between the two nations. During the meeting, President Al-Alimi welcomed the ambassador and conveyed his appreciation for Egypt’s steadfast support of Yemen’s unity, stability, and legitimate institutions.
Ambassador Abu Sarea delivered greetings from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and reaffirmed Cairo’s commitment to enhancing bilateral relations and supporting Yemen’s efforts toward peace and reconstruction. Discussions also touched on regional developments, humanitarian challenges, and the importance of coordinated diplomatic efforts to address the ongoing crisis in Yemen.
Yemen’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Shaya Zindani, also received a copy of the ambassador’s credentials earlier in the day, expressing full support for his mission and praising Egypt’s role in backing the Presidential Leadership Council and the Yemeni people.
The appointment comes at a critical time, as Yemen continues to navigate complex political and humanitarian challenges. Egypt’s engagement is seen as a vital component of Arab solidarity and regional diplomacy aimed at restoring peace and stability in the country.
