KSrelief provides cholera care to 1,783 in Yemen
Aden -- The emergency cholera response project in Yemen, supported by Saudi aid agency KSrelief, provided medical services to 1,783 people in one week.
Comprehensive cholera screenings were conducted at airports and border crossings across several regions, with no suspected or confirmed cases reported.
Additionally, 292 awareness sessions were held, benefiting 6,223 individuals, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Wednesday.
The project aims to reduce infection rates and limit the spread of cholera through preventive measures, including traveler screenings and supplying health facilities with essential medical resources.
In the Taiz governorate, the KSrelief-backed prosthetics and rehabilitation center provided medical services to 564 people in one month who had lost limbs.
KSrelief also distributed 1,000 cartons of dates to the most vulnerable individuals, including displaced people and those with special needs, benefiting 6,000 people in the Marib governorate.
Since its establishment in 2015, KSrelief has implemented 1,161 projects in Yemen at a total cost of about $4.7 billion, covering food security, early recovery, water, sanitation and hygiene, health, camp coordination, education, protection, emergency aid, and nutrition.
