Since March, the conflict in Yemen has killed nearly 400 children, while almost the same number of children have been recruited by armed groups, UNICEF said.
This is the first report of this United Nations agency for children, and the first warning about the situation in Yemen, where the coalition led by Saudi Arabia is fighting against the Houthi Shiite rebels, since the end of March this year.
Furthermore, the report emphasizes that a week ago, 398 children were killed, while more than 600 others were injured.
Also, 377 children have been recruited to fight and 1.3 million have been displaced from their homes.
"Children are bearing the brunt of the brutal armed conflict," the UNESCO report says, adding that "they are killed by bombs or bullets, and those who survive the attacks face increasing threats from disease and poor nutrition."
This war has killed more than 4,300 people, most of them civilians, while diseases have spread and there is hunger in the regions of this country.
Human rights groups have expressed concern that both sides in the conflict are violating the laws of war and not doing enough to protect civilians.
