Yemen : Coast Guard Rescues Seven from Drowning Off Hadramout Shores, Including Three Young Girls
Yemeni Coast Guard successfully rescued seven individuals, including three young girls, from drowning off the shores of Hadramout governorate.
The incident occurred near the coastal city of Al-Shihr, where strong currents and rough waves had swept the group into dangerous waters.
According to a statement from the Coast Guard’s operations center, the rescue teams responded promptly after receiving an emergency alert.
Divers and marine patrol units were dispatched to the scene, where they managed to retrieve all seven victims and administer first aid on-site.
The three girls, reportedly between the ages of 12 and 16, were found clinging to a partially submerged rock formation before being pulled to safety.
Officials emphasized that the group had been swimming in an unauthorized area, known for its unpredictable tides and lack of lifeguard supervision.
The Coast Guard reiterated its call for citizens and visitors to adhere to maritime safety guidelines and avoid high-risk zones.
This successful rescue comes amid a series of recent drowning incidents along Hadramout’s coastline, prompting renewed efforts by local authorities to enhance public awareness and deploy additional safety measures.
