At least three people were killed and about 12 wounded, on Saturday evening, when a Houthi ballistic missile bombed a mosque in the Al-Alam camp in Shabwa governorate, eastern Yemen.
Local Yemeni websites quoted a military source as saying that a ballistic missile bombardment of the Houthis targeted the Al-Alam camp in Jardan district, east of Shabwa governorate. The military source explained that the bombing hit the camp mosque while dozens of new soldiers were performing the Maghrib prayer, causing at least three deaths and 12 injuries. He pointed out that the Shabwa Defense Forces loyal to the legitimate government have been stationed in the camp that was bombed since the beginning of this year. Al-Alam camp is one of the most important camps in Shabwa governorate, and is located near the Al-Aqla sector, the second largest oil field in Yemen.
On the other hand, many human rights activists in Yemen and a number of Arab and Islamic countries are calling for the Houthis to be placed on the list of terrorist organizations that threaten international peace and security because of their continuous violations of killing and torturing civilians, including journalists and opponents, and direct targeting of civilians in Yemen, Saudi Arabia and the UAE with ballistic missiles and drones.
