Yemen : Houthi Militants Threaten Military Escalation Against Israel Over Lebanon Strikes
Sana'a -- Yemen’s Houthi Militants has threatened to launch military support operations and strike Israel if it does not halt its ongoing attacks on Lebanon, according to statements reported by regional media outlets.
The warning comes amid escalating Israeli airstrikes targeting southern Lebanese towns and alleged Hezbollah positions, raising fears of a broader regional conflict.
A senior Houthi official stated that the group is prepared to “open a support front” and deploy its missile capabilities against Israeli targets in solidarity with Lebanon, should the Israeli military continue its operations.
The official emphasized that the Houthis view the Israeli strikes as aggression not only against Lebanon but against the wider axis of resistance.
The threat follows recent Israeli air raids on areas in Lebanon’s Nabatieh and South governorates, which have reportedly caused civilian casualties and infrastructure damage.
Houthi leaders, backed by Iran, have previously expressed readiness to assist Hezbollah and other allied groups in the region, despite facing U.S. airstrikes and regional pressure.
Israeli officials have not publicly responded to the latest Houthi threats, but the situation continues to draw concern from international actors monitoring the potential for multi-front escalation.
