Muscat -- Diplomatic sources confirmed that the talks include a meeting between Iran’s Foreign Minister and the United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen, underscoring the urgency of international efforts to prevent renewed conflict. 

The consultations are part of a broader set of high-level discussions hosted by Oman, which has long played a mediating role in Yemen’s crisis.

The meetings focus on de-escalation measures, humanitarian access, and the revival of political negotiations under UN auspices. 

Officials warn that recent military escalations threaten to collapse fragile ceasefire understandings, potentially plunging Yemen back into widespread fighting.

Oman reiterated its call for peaceful solutions through dialogue, stressing that continued violence would worsen the humanitarian crisis and destabilize the wider region. 

Observers note that Muscat’s diplomatic push reflects urgent fears that Yemen could slide back into all-out war, undoing recent progress toward easing hostilities.
