Muscat – Thousands of Yemeni families are anxiously watching the ongoing prisoner exchange talks in Muscat, Oman, hoping for a breakthrough that could reunite them with loved ones who have been missing for years.

The consultations, held under the auspices of the United Nations and supported by the International Committee of the Red Cross, bring together delegations from the Yemeni government and the Houthi group to discuss arrangements for releasing detainees and abductees.

For many families, the negotiations represent more than political dialogue  they embody a chance to end years of painful waiting. 

Civil society groups, including the Association of Mothers of Abductees, have urged both sides to prioritize humanitarian considerations and deliver tangible results.

A successful agreement could mark a rare moment of relief in a conflict that has left deep scars across the country.
