"Yemen Humanitarian Response Plan Faces Worst Funding Gap in a Decade" , UN Says
Sana’a — The United Nations has confirmed that Yemen’s Humanitarian Response Plan (YHRP) for 2025 received only about 28 percent of its required funding, marking the lowest level of support in the past ten years.
According to recent data released by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), by 31 December 2025 the plan had secured $687.9 million, equivalent to 27.8 percent of the total $2.48 billion needed.
OCHA said the funding shortfall amounted to $1.79 billion, or 72.2 percent of the overall requirements, leaving “millions of people deprived of the life‑saving assistance they urgently need.”
The unprecedented gap underscores the growing challenges facing humanitarian operations in Yemen, where years of conflict, economic collapse, and widespread displacement have left millions dependent on aid.
