RIYADH — China has reiterated its steadfast position in support of Yemen’s unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, underscoring its commitment to backing international efforts aimed at achieving a peaceful resolution to the country’s ongoing conflict.

Speaking at a press conference in Riyadh, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Yemen, Shao Zheng, emphasized that Beijing firmly supports the work of the United Nations and the efforts of the UN Special Envoy to Yemen to advance dialogue among Yemeni parties.

“China’s position on Yemen’s unity and sovereignty is clear and unwavering. We will continue to support peace efforts and encourage political dialogue to end the crisis,” Shao said.

The Chinese diplomat highlighted the depth of Yemeni‑Chinese relations, noting that Beijing is keen to strengthen cooperation with Yemen across multiple fields. He also reaffirmed China’s readiness to contribute to humanitarian and development assistance, as well as reconstruction efforts once peace is restored.

‏China’s reaffirmation comes at a time of heightened regional tensions and underscores Beijing’s desire to position itself as a reliable partner in Middle Eastern diplomacy. 

By stressing Yemen’s unity and sovereignty, China signals opposition to any fragmentation of the country and seeks to bolster its image as a supporter of stability and reconstruction.
