Yemen : US Condemns Houthi issuance of a new "Fake" currency

United States condemned the Houthi rebels issuance of a new metallic currency in Yemen.
This moving is considered a threat to the financial sector and exacerbates divisions within the country.
U.S. Embassy in Yemen issued a statement condemning the Houthis’ issuance of counterfeit currency instead of the official Yemeni currency, emphasizing the need to prevent this fake currency from entering the market.
The European Union also expressed deep concern about this decision, noting that unilateral actions jeopardize the Yemeni economy and undermine the banking sector.
British Embassy also warned that a divided economy would only erode the interests of the Yemeni people.
Houthis introduced this new metallic currency denomination of 100 Yemeni riyals for the first time since their takeover of the capital, Sanaa, and most northern provinces.
