Over 100 Relief Organizations Warns : Yemen on the Brink of Humanitarian Catastrophe

Aden - 116 relief organizations, including UN agencies and international and local NGOs, have issued an urgent appeal to the international community to take swift action to save Yemen from a worsening humanitarian crisis that threatens millions of lives.
In a joint statement, organizations such as UNICEF, OCHA, FAO, and the World Food Programme emphasized that Yemen’s humanitarian situation has reached a critical stage, with the country facing its worst food crisis ever, alongside economic collapse, insufficient aid funding, and recurring climate shocks.
They warned that only 10% of the required funding for the 2025 humanitarian response plan has been secured, jeopardizing essential aid programs that provide food, healthcare, and shelter to millions of Yemenis—including displaced persons, refugees, women, and children—who rely on these services to survive.
This urgent call comes ahead of a high-level meeting on Yemen in Brussels, where relief organizations stressed the need for flexible and sustainable funding to ensure the continuity of aid operations. They urged donor countries to increase financial contributions and act swiftly to prevent the humanitarian situation from worsening.
The organizations further stated that humanitarian solutions alone will not be enough, and must be accompanied by political efforts to resolve the conflict and stabilize the country. A lasting resolution is essential to securing a safer future for millions of Yemenis who have endured the consequences of war for years.
