Yemeni Commission Documents 5,700 Cases of Child Rights Violations Across Provinces
Sana’a — The National Commission to Investigate Alleged Violations of Human Rights in Yemen has reported that 5,700 children have been subjected to grave abuses across multiple governorates, underscoring the scale of violations amid the country’s ongoing conflict.
According to the Commission’s latest documentation, the violations include recruitment of children into armed groups, denial of access to education, arbitrary detention, and exposure to violence in frontline areas.
The report highlights that these abuses were recorded in diverse regions, reflecting the widespread impact of the war on Yemen’s youngest and most vulnerable population.
The Commission stressed that protecting children must remain a priority for all parties, calling on national authorities and international organizations to intensify efforts to safeguard minors from exploitation and harm.
“Children are bearing the brunt of this conflict, and urgent measures are needed to uphold their rights,” the body stated.
Human rights advocates warn that the documented cases represent only a fraction of the broader crisis, as many incidents go unreported in remote or inaccessible areas.
The findings add to mounting calls for accountability and stronger humanitarian protections in Yemen, where millions of children already face hunger, displacement, and lack of basic services.
