Iran says talks with Saudi Arabia ongoing in 'good atmosphere'

Iranian foreign ministry said on Monday that the country's talks with regional rival Saudi Arabia were ongoing in "good atmosphere" in the hope of reaching "common understanding". Last month, media revealed that Iranian and Saudi officials had met in Baghdad in April. This was their first high-level meeting since Saudi Arabia cut diplomatic ties with Tehran in 2016.
"Talks are still continuing in a good atmosphere," ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said at a press conference.
