Advisor to UAE president receives UN Special Envoy for Yemen

The Diplomatic Advisor to the UAE President, Anwar Gargash, received on Tuesday the United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg.
Gargash and Grundberg discussed the recent developments in Yemen’s ongoing crisis, and international efforts to find peaceful solutions to the situation, according to state agency WAM.
The pair also addressed Grundberg’s recent talks with international parties regarding the extension of the truce in Yemen in order to reach a permanent ceasefire.
During the discussion, Gargash confirmed the UAE’s support for the UN’s efforts to ensure stability in the war-torn country, in addition to ending the Yemeni people’s suffering who are living in ‘devastating humanitarian conditions’.
The UAE diplomatic advisor highlighted Saudi Arabia’s support for the UN’s endeavors in reaching a political solution to the crisis in Yemen.
Gargash also noted the ‘positive response of the Yemeni government to the UN’s suggestions on extending the truce’ and ‘affirmed his support for Yemen’s Presidential Council’ during his talk with Grundberg.
Meanwhile, the UN Special Envoy lauded the UAE’s role in reaching a peaceful solution in Yemen.
