900 wounded Yemenis rehabilitated in Oman

The eight-year-old conflict in Yemen has killed and crippled thousands. An Omani prosthetics centre in Salalah is making an effort to put some of the injured back on their feet and thus far has succeeded in doing that with 900 Yemenis.
In continuation of its mission, Arabian Prosthetics Centre (APC) last Saturday concluded the rehabilitation of 50 maimed Yemenis from its 15th batch of beneficiaries.
‘Fifty wounded patients from Sana’a, Ibb and Ma’rib successfully concluded their treatment and kinetic rehabilitation programme at the centre in Oman,’ APC said. With the successful completion of the process for the latest batch, ‘we have completed rehabilitation of 900 wounded Yemenis’, it added.
APC’s management thanked the sultanate for its humanitarian efforts in the Yemen war and its fraternal ties with its neighbours.
Abd al Karim Nofal, from Sana’a who currently lives in Marib, said that he has regained hope after getting a prosthetic leg. “I am able to perform my daily chores comfortably.”
Nofal praised the humanitarian services provided to him and others by APC. “The relief came after a long suffering due to the loss of my left lower limb in a landmine blast.”
Hassan al Huwaisk, from Marib, who injured both his feet four years ago, one of which had to be amputated, said that he now runs and races with the new limb.
