Houthis Announce Death Toll from Israeli Strikes in Yemen: 46 Killed, 165 Wounded

A series of Israeli airstrikes targeting Houthi-controlled sites in Yemen have left at least 46 people dead and 165 injured, according to the Houthi-run Ministry of Health.
The strikes mark a dramatic escalation in regional tensions, as Israel responds to continued missile and drone attacks launched by Houthi forces in support of Palestinians amid the ongoing war in Gaza.
The deadliest attacks occurred in the capital, Sana’a, where 38 people were killed and 147 wounded. Among the casualties were five children and eleven women. In the northern province of Al-Jawf, eight fatalities and 18 injuries were reported.
Rescue teams are still searching for survivors beneath the rubble, raising fears that the death toll may rise.
Key Targets:
- The Moral Guidance Directorate in central Sana’a
- Civil Registry offices in Al-Jawf
- The Central Bank and other government buildings
The Israeli military confirmed the strikes, stating they targeted “military infrastructure used to coordinate attacks against Israel.” The Houthis have claimed responsibility for multiple long-range missile and drone launches toward Israeli territory in recent weeks, framing their actions as part of a broader campaign of solidarity with Gaza.
The United Nations has called for restraint, warning that further escalation could destabilize Yemen’s fragile humanitarian situation. Human rights organizations have urged all parties to protect civilians and avoid targeting densely populated areas.
This marks the first direct Israeli military action on Yemeni soil in decades, raising concerns about the widening scope of the conflict and its potential to ignite broader regional confrontations.
