Yemen : Houthi Leader Threatens Military Escalation, Cites “Full Readiness” for Renewed Operations
Sana’a — Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, the leader of Yemen’s Houthi militia, has issued a stark warning of renewed military operations, citing what he described as the group’s “full military readiness” to confront regional and international threats. The statement, delivered in a televised speech from Sana’a, signals a potential escalation amid rising tensions in the region.
Al-Houthi accused the United States and Israel of continued aggression and warned that any further military action—particularly in Gaza—would provoke a strong response from his forces. “Our fighters are fully prepared. Our missiles, drones, and naval units are on standby,” he declared, adding that the group’s strategic options remain open.
Al-Houthi’s rhetoric also emphasized solidarity with the Palestinian cause, framing the group’s military posture as part of a broader resistance axis. “We will not remain silent in the face of injustice. Any aggression will be met with decisive retaliation,” he said.
As tensions mount, the Houthis’ declaration of military readiness underscores the volatility of Yemen’s geopolitical landscape and the potential for renewed confrontation on multiple fronts.
