Houthi Militias Besiege Home of GPC Leader Sadeq Amin Abu Rass in Yemen
Sana'a -- Local sources in Sana’a reported that Houthi militias have surrounded the residence of Sadeq Amin Abu Rass, the chairman of the General People’s Congress (GPC) party.
Witnesses said armed groups deployed heavily across the neighborhood, stationing fighters around nearby houses and streets to tighten control of the area.
The siege has raised concerns over escalating tensions between the Houthis and the GPC, one of Yemen’s largest political parties.
This move signals growing pressure on Abu Rass, who assumed leadership of the party after the killing of former president Ali Abdullah Saleh in 2017.
Residents described the atmosphere as tense, with the presence of armed men sparking fear among civilians in the district.
