Child Killed, Four Injured in Grenade Explosion Following Family Dispute in Yemen's Taiz
Taiz – A child was killed and four others wounded on Saturday after a hand grenade exploded in Taiz governorate, southwestern Yemen, following a dispute between two brothers, local sources reported.
The incident occurred in Mawiyah district, southeast of Taiz, where an argument between the siblings escalated when one of them hurled a grenade at the other, triggering a deadly blast.
According to witnesses, the explosion claimed the life of a child and left four others injured with varying degrees of wounds. The victims were neighborhood children playing near the site of the altercation and had no connection to the two brothers involved.
Residents expressed deep anger and sorrow over the tragedy, calling for accountability and demanding that the perpetrator face justice. The incident has further underscored the dangers posed by the widespread availability of weapons in civilian areas across Yemen.
