Yemen : Houthis Shell Residential Areas in Taiz, No Casualties Reported
Taiz — Houthi militias targeted residential neighborhoods in Wadi Al-Salah, east of Taiz city, with three artillery shells late Saturday, according to local sources.
The bombardment struck civilian areas but did not result in casualties, residents confirmed.
Witnesses reported that the shells landed near homes, causing panic among families and minor property damage.
Local authorities condemned the attack, describing it as part of the Houthis’ ongoing campaign of indiscriminate shelling against populated areas in Taiz.
Human rights activists warned that such actions violate international humanitarian law and place civilians at constant risk.
Taiz has long been one of the most heavily contested fronts in Yemen’s war, with Houthi forces positioned on the city’s outskirts frequently launching artillery and sniper attacks against residential districts.
Despite repeated calls for de-escalation, the city continues to endure sporadic bombardments that exacerbate the humanitarian crisis.
