Yemen’s STC Confirms Presence Across Southern Yemen
Aden -- A senior official from Yemen’s Southern Transitional Council (STC) confirmed to Reuters that the group maintains a presence across all southern governorates, including the strategic port city of Aden.
The official emphasized that the STC’s organizational reach extends beyond Aden into every southern province, underscoring its role as a key political and security actor in the region. “The Council is present in all southern governorates, and Aden remains at the heart of our activities,” the official said.
The statement comes amid ongoing tensions and shifting alliances in Yemen’s protracted conflict, where the STC has positioned itself as a representative of southern aspirations for autonomy. Aden, serving as the interim seat of Yemen’s internationally recognized government, has long been a focal point of power struggles between rival factions.
