Houthis Abduct Starlink Device Owners in Yemen’s Ibb
Ibb -- Local sources in Yemen reported that Houthi militias have abducted several residents in Ibb province who own Starlink satellite internet devices, following raids on their homes.
According to the sources, armed Houthi units stormed multiple neighborhoods in the city of Ibb, targeting individuals suspected of possessing Starlink equipment.
The detainees were taken to undisclosed locations, while their devices were confiscated.
Observers note that the Houthis have increasingly tightened restrictions on independent internet access, viewing satellite-based connections as a threat to their control over information flows.
The latest abductions highlight growing concerns about freedom of communication and the risks faced by civilians under militia rule.
