Giants Brigade Accuses Houthis of Bombing Joint Observation Point in Hodeidah

Yemen’s pro-government Giants Brigade, operating in the war-torn country’s west coast area, released footage showing the downing of a Houthi drone.
Field military sources said that the “reconnaissance drone was flying north of the Ad Durayhimi District and was trying to photograph the locations and movements of pro-government joint forces.”
Ad Durayhimi District is a district of the Hodeidah governorate.
The Giants Brigade also said that “joint forces thwarted an infiltration attempt by the Iran-aligned Houthi militias inside the city of Hodeidah,” adding that the “Houthis pushed dozens of their elements in an attempt to infiltrate and create fortifications east of the coastal defense camp on Khamseen Street.”
They also accused Houthis of bombing an observation point operated by joint forces in Hodeidah.
Yemeni sources also said that Houthis re-bombed the 22 May Hospital in Hodeidah city on Friday evening.
The sources added that a fire broke out at the hospital building in after the Houthis targeted it with three shells.
The hospital had been bombed several times by the militias since the UN-brokered ceasefire took effect in December 2018.
On Saturday, fighting broke out in the mountainous Nihm district as army troops advanced into Houthi-controlled territory.
Yemen’s Defense Minister, Lt. Gen. Mohammed Ali Al-Maqdashi, said earlier that army troops had withdrawn from locations in Nihm to regroup before resuming their efforts to expel Houthis from Sanaa.
