Yemeni Army Liberates Strategic Positions In Bayda

Backed by the Arab coalition, the Yemeni Army turned the tables on Tuesday in the province of Bayda after liberating strategic positions.
Yemeni military sources said that during the battles that lasted for two days, the Yemeni army killed at least 80 militants.
The new field developments in Bayda coincided with ongoing fighting in the province of Taiz, where the sources said around 22 Houthi rebels were killed or injured.
The Media Center of the Yemeni Armed Force quoted on Tuesday a Yemeni army commander as saying: "Today, Army forces managed to retake control over a number of sites in Al Malagim and Nati fronts north of al-Bayda.”
He said the Yemen army took control over Al Ghadir, Al Waleed and Al Qaid mountains west of Al Bayda mountains area in Malagim front, in addition to liberating the Shiab Aashar in Nati' front.
The Yemeni army forces, backed by the Arab Coalition to support legitimacy, have been advancing in the north of Bayda amid collapsing of Houthis' ranks suffering a great human and material losses.
“Air Forces of Saudi-led coalition launched about 5 strikes targeting sites and reinforcements of Houthi militia in several areas of the province,” he said.
The General added that military engineering teams launched a demining process to remove cluster bombs planted by Houthi militia.
Meanwhile, more than 22 Houthis were killed or injured on Tuesday during battles on the western fronts of the Taiz city after rebels tried to infiltrate into army positions.
“Fighting lasted for several hours and was accompanied by shelling and extensive coverage, killing at least 7 rebels and injuring more than 15,” Col. Abdulbaset Al Baher, a military official in Taiz said.
