Yemen's Houthi militia says launches drone attack on Saudi airbase

Yemen's Houthi militia said on Sunday that it launched two bomb-laden drones toward King Khaled Airbase in Saudi Arabia's southwestern city of Khamis Mushait, the Houthi-run al-Masirah TV reported.
"The attack hit aircraft hangars accurately," the TV quoted a statement from the group's military spokesman Yahya Sarea as saying.
"The attack was in response to the Saudi-led coalition airstrikes and blockade on the Yemeni people," Sarea said.
Meanwhile, the Saudi-owned Al Arabiya television reported that the Saudi-led coalition intercepted and destroyed an explosive-laden drone fired by the Houthi militia from Yemen toward Saudi Arabia, without providing more details.
It was the latest in a series of attempted cross-border drone and missile attacks by the Iran-backed Yemeni Shiite Houthi militia against Saudi Arabia. Most of the drones and missiles had been reportedly foiled by the Saudi-led coalition forces.
A day earlier, Al Arabiya television reported that the Saudi-led coalition intercepted and destroyed three bomb-laden drones fired by the Houthi militia from Yemen toward Saudi Arabia.
Yemen has been mired in civil war since late 2014, when the Iran-backed Houthi militia seized control of several northern provinces and forced the internationally-recognized government of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi out of the capital Sanaa.
The Saudi-led Arab coalition intervened in the Yemeni conflict in 2015 to support the government of Hadi.
