Sudan voices support for Yemen's new government

The Sudanese government on Sunday voiced support for the new Yemeni government to restore security and stability in Yemen, said the Sudanese Foreign Ministry.
In a statement, the ministry expressed hope that the new Yemeni government would cooperate with the coalition to restore legitimacy, stability and peace in all Yemeni territories.
"Khartoum is following with great welcome and optimism the progress of the implementation of the Riyadh Agreement between the legitimate Yemeni government and the Southern Transitional Council (STC) in implementing the military part and forming the new Yemeni government," the statement said.
It expressed appreciation of efforts that Saudi Arabia has been making, within the framework of its leadership of the Arab coalition to restore legitimacy in Yemen, to push the Yemeni parties to implement the Riyadh Agreement and support the UN efforts, led by the UN Special Envoy for Yemen Martin Griffiths, to reach a comprehensive political solution in Yemen.
On Friday, President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi issued a decision to form a new power-sharing government in Yemen, led by Prime Minister Moein Abdel-Malik, a move that has received regional and international welcome.
The new government consists of 24 ministerial portfolios, divided equally between the northern and southern governorates in Yemen, the General People's Congress, the Yemeni Congregation for Reform Party, the STC and others.
The new Yemeni government was established in accordance with the terms of the Riyadh Agreement jointly signed in November last year between the Yemeni government and the STC.
