U.S. Special Envoy for Yemen Lenderking’s Travel to Saudi Arabia

U.S. Special Envoy for Yemen Tim Lenderking traveled to Saudi Arabia on June 12 to advance efforts to further expand the continuing benefits of the truce and launch a comprehensive peace process.
The United States is committed to supporting a resolution to the Yemen conflict as soon as possible. The United States is working closely with the UN and regional partners to build on the UN-mediated truce, which has delivered the longest period of calm since the war began, and to enable Yemenis to shape a brighter future for their country.
While in Saudi Arabia, Special Envoy Lenderking will meet with Yemeni and Saudi officials along with international partners to discuss their coordinated efforts to advance ongoing talks.
The Special Envoy will be following up on discussions held by Secretary Blinken and his counterparts in the region and discussing recent progress in the U.S.-supported operation to avert a catastrophic oil spill from the Safer tanker.
