Houthi rebel group in Yemen accused Saudi border guards of firing artillery and killing two Yemeni citizens in the Yemeni border district of Shada on Saturday.
According to the Houthi-run al-Masirah TV, the bodies of the victims were taken to a hospital in the adjacent Razih district. Both border districts are located in the Yemeni northwestern province of Saada.
There were no comments yet from the Saudi government on the alleged attack.
Saada Province shares borders with Saudi Arabia to the north and northwest. It is the most populous province in Yemen and serves as a stronghold of the Houthi group.
Yemen has been embroiled in a devastating civil war since 2014 due to prolonged rivalry between the Houthis and the internationally recognized Yemeni government. In 2015, the Saudi-led coalition intervened in the conflict to support the Yemeni government.
