Houthis report 69 US airstrikes Friday in Yemen, highest single-day total

The Yemeni Houthi group said the US carried out 69 raids Friday across Yemen -- the highest in a single day since Washington initiated attacks on Houthi-controlled areas since mid-March.
Houthi-run Al-Masirah TV said warplanes conducted 26 raids by the afternoon on the capital, Sanaa, and the Al-Jawf and Saada provinces.
It added that raids in Saada province left one civilian killed and three injured.
Earlier, the broadcaster reported 43 strikes across Yemeni provinces, including 19 on Amran, eight in Sanaa, seven on Saada, four on Marib, three on Al-Hudaydah and two on Al-Jawf.
The Houthi-run Health Ministry said seven civilians were injured in airstrikes on the Al-Tahreer District in central Sanaa.
The group claimed that civilian properties were damaged in the attack.
US President Donald Trump said March 15 that he had ordered a “major offensive” against the Houthis and later threatened to “whip them out completely.”
The Houthi group has been attacking Israeli-linked ships passing through the Red and Arabian seas, the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and the Gulf of Aden with missiles and drones since late 2023, disrupting global trade for what it said is a show of solidarity with the Gaza Strip.
The group halted its attacks when a ceasefire was declared in January between Israel and the Palestinian resistance group, Hamas, but it threatened to resume the attacks when Israel blocked all humanitarian aid into Gaza on March 2.
