Yemen : Sources Report Death of Detainee in Houthis Prison
Sana'a — Human rights sources confirmed the death of a detainee inside the Central Prison in Sana’a after more than seven years of imprisonment.
The detainee, Ali Mohammed Ali Al-Sayyid, 30, from Al-Bayda governorate, died while being held in the facility , Sources Said.
The cause of death was linked to medical neglect, noting that Al-Sayyid had been suffering from a severe illness during his detention but was not provided with the necessary healthcare.
The incident has raised renewed concerns among rights advocates about prison conditions in areas under Houthi control, where detainees have long reported inadequate medical care and prolonged detention without due process.
