The UAE field hospital in Gaza has suffered significant damage after being hit by shrapnel from nearby military activity, renewing urgent calls to safeguard emergency crews amid the ongoing conflict.

Authorities announced via the “Gallant Knight” platform on X that, while no injuries were reported, “several main facilities” of the hospital — located in Rafah, southern Gaza — were impacted in Tuesday’s incident.

A video shared on the official X platform of “Operation Gallant Knight 3” — the UAE’s humanitarian campaign supporting Palestinians affected by the war — showed debris strewn across the floors of the 200-bed field hospital.

A representative from the operation told media outlets that the hospital remains operational despite the challenging circumstances and continues to deliver medical care to wounded Palestinians. However, some unused sections of the facility sustained damage.

He added, “At the time of the incident, two patients were receiving treatment in the intensive care unit.”

The mission called for urgent measures to safeguard healthcare workers in Gaza and ensure the uninterrupted delivery of essential medical services. In a statement shared on social media, the mission confirmed: “No injuries have been reported among the medical staff or personnel on site.”

Despite the challenging conditions on the ground, the UAE medical mission reaffirmed its humanitarian commitment to continue providing care to wounded Palestinians. The mission also called on relevant authorities to ensure protective measures are taken to safeguard medical teams and guarantee the uninterrupted operation of hospitals.
