Yemeni Coast Guard in Aden Receives Senior UK Delegation to Discuss Maritime Security Cooperation
Aden — The Yemeni Coast Guard Authority in Aden hosted a high-level British delegation on Tuesday, including the UK Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa and the British Ambassador to Yemen, in a meeting aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in maritime and security affairs.
During the visit, both sides explored avenues to enhance joint efforts in combating emerging maritime threats and improving operational coordination in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden. Discussions focused on the growing challenges facing regional maritime security, including arms smuggling, piracy, and irregular migration.
The British delegation praised the efforts of the Yemeni Coast Guard in maintaining navigational safety and countering transnational threats, despite the complex security landscape. The Yemeni side emphasized the importance of continued international support and technical assistance to bolster its capabilities.
