The Yemeni Armed Forces and Popular Resistance have captured dozens of Huthi militia  in northern and southern of Nahm province in Sanaa Governorate.

Meanwhile, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Antonio Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN) discussed views on a number of issues of mutual interest, reviewed current developments in the Middle East, and a number of regional and international issues, especially conditions in Yemen, Syria, Libya, and Iraq.

During their meeting at the UN headquarters in New York late on Monday, the two sides discussed aspects of joint cooperation and ways to strengthen and consolidate bilateral relations between the UAE and the UN in all fields, including humanitarian and aid relief.

Nearly 38,000 Yemeni civilians have been killed or injured at the hands of Houthis and those allied to Saleh since the war began in 2014, Yemen’s Ministry of Human Rights has said.

Yemen’s official news agency, Saba, quoted military sources as saying that the army were advancing towards Arhab province, overlooking the Sanaa International Airport, putting many surrounding villages within the range of the army’s fire.

They noted that the advance coincided with the coalition’s intensive air raids on several militia sites, where a number of military vehicles were reported to have been damaged.

The army and the resistance also captured two militia bases in Asailan province in the Shabwa Governorate.

The numbers of the dead came as part of a report presented by the Yemeni Deputy Minister of Human Rights, Mohammed Askar, during a human rights council meeting in Geneva, discussing the situation in Yemen in the period between Jan.1, 2015 and Jan.31st, 2017.

According to Askar, Houthi bombings in populated areas, villages, farmland and roads led to 673 civilian injuries and deaths, mostly women and children.

The report also shows that the militia used children to fuel their war and increase their numbers, recruiting more than 1,000 children under the age of 18, as well as recruiting female fighters.

According to the report, the Houthi militia destroyed more than 29,000 establishments, which include government buildings, schools, hospitals, water and electricity facilities, roads and bridges.

Nearly 26,000 private properties, including homes and residential buildings, markets, cars, farms and factories, were also destroyed.

Sheikh Abdullah expressed the UAE’s keenness to strengthen its cooperation and partnership with the UN, as well as all international organisations that work to benefit people.

Guterres expressed his and the UN’s appreciation for the UAE’s efforts and the important role it plays in supporting the organisation and the international community, praising the country’s leading stance at the regional and international levels.

The meeting was attended by Lana Nusseibeh, UAE Permanent Representative to the UN.

Meanwhile, 28 members of the Houthi and Saleh allies were killed by artillery fire and air raids carried out by Arab coalition warplanes on Monday.
