The coalition to restore legitimacy in Yemen announced on Monday the opening of an air relief corridor between the capital Sanaa and Egypt.
The medical humanitarian corridor will connect Sanaa airport to Cairo airport. It will witness two flights a month to transfer patients and urgent medical cases.
The flights will be coordinated between the legitimate government, command of the joint forces and World Health Organization.
Offering a more detailed breakdown of the deal, Arab coalition spokesman Colonel Turki al-Maliki said that a flight will be scheduled once every two weeks.
He stressed that all available land, sea and air ports in Yemen are operating at full capacity to handle humanitarian cases.
These efforts do not discriminate between one Yemeni and the other, he stressed.
The Iran-backed Houthi militias, however, are still obstructing the arrival of relief aid ships to the strategic Hodeidah port, Maliki stated. Included in these aid shipments are much-needed cholera vaccines.
The spokesman held the militants full responsibility for the repercussions of their hostile actions.
Later on Monday, the Yemen Comprehensive Humanitarian Operations center held a workshop in Riyadh to explain the results of its humanitarian operations in the war-torn country.
The meeting was attended by several ambassadors to Yemen, as well as representatives of United Nations agencies.
Saudi Ambassador to Yemen Mohammed al-Jaber said that the workshop offered evidence that the Kingdom, United Arab Emirates and members of the Arab coalition have achieved several goals of the Yemen Comprehensive Humanitarian Operations plan.
The workshop detailed the efforts of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center in Yemen and economic and military affairs related to the country.
