Yemen's Houthis launched a ballistic missile at a Saudi border camp on Saturday morning, the group's al-Masirah TV said.

"The Badr-F missile had hit a newly-established camp in Sukam area in the kingdom's southern Najran region, killing dozens of Saudi soldiers and their mercenaries," it said, referring to the Yemeni Saudi-backed government forces as "mercenaries."

There was no confirmation from Saudi Arabia on the attack.

Houthis have recently stepped up missile and drone attacks on Saudi Arabia and its ally, exiled Yemeni government forces. Saudi's air defenses had intercepted and destroyed many missiles and bomb-laden drones before they reached their targets.

On Thursday, a Houthi-claimed ballistic missile killed at least 40 Yemeni soldiers during a military parade in Jalaa camp in the southern Yemeni port city of Aden, the temporarily capital of the exiled government.

Saudi Arabia has been leading an Arab military coalition against Iran-allied Houthis in Yemen for more than four years in support of the exiled internationally-recognized government of Yemeni President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi.AFP
