IOM Reports Over 24,000 Displaced in Yemen Since January 2025 Amid Escalating Conflict
Sana’a – The International Organization for Migration (IOM) announced that more than 24,000 people have been displaced across Yemen since the beginning of 2025, underscoring the worsening humanitarian crisis in the war-torn country.
In its latest displacement tracking report released on Monday, the IOM said that 24,588 individuals from 4,098 households were forced to flee at least once between January 1 and December 13, 2025. The organization warned that the continued waves of displacement are placing immense pressure on host communities and already fragile infrastructure.
The report highlighted that ongoing conflict and rising tensions in several regions have fueled successive displacement movements, exacerbating humanitarian needs and deepening the vulnerability of affected populations.
Humanitarian agencies have expressed concern that the growing number of displaced families will further strain limited resources, calling for urgent support to ensure access to shelter, food, and essential services.
