Yemen’s Houthi rebels on Monday claimed responsibility for missile and drone attack on the government army’s sites.

A total of “nine ballistic missiles and 20 bomb-laden drones hit the targets in Mocha, killing and wounding about 350 soldiers and destroying five arm’s depots,” Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sarea said in a statement aired by the group’s al-Masirah television.

“The attack came in response to the Saudi-led coalition airstrikes,” Sarea added.

However, there were no reports of casualties from the government side, which said its air defense forces had intercepted and destroyed the Houthi missile and drone attack.

It was the second attack on the government army in Mocha this month. The Houthi attack on Nov. 7 hit the same army sites and damaged a nearby clinic run by the international medical charity Medecins Sans Frontieres, according to the government officials.

Yemen has been mired in a civil war for over four years after the Houthis overran the capital Sanaa and forced the internationally-recognized government of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi into exile.

The war has killed tens of thousands of people, displaced three million and pushed the impoverished country to the brink of famine, according to the United Nations.
