14 Indian hostages released from Yemen

The Indian Embassy in Djibouti tweeted today about the release of 14 Indian nationals who were under detention in Yemen’s capital Sana’a with the Indian Embassy Oman thanking the Government of Oman and the authorities concerned in this regard in a tweet of its own.
The 14 Indian nationals were under detention in Sana’a for over nine months. The Embassy in Yemeni capital Sana’a had been in constant contact with them. Indian Embassy officials in Sana’a are making arrangements for their safe return to India.
The 14 Indian nationals, all seamen, are from the states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal. There were repeated appeals from the families of the detainees through media and through Social Media, to help with the release of the seamen who were in this long detention. Indian media quickly picked up the news which has been hailed by the families, friends and the media.
