Masam Project Clears 2,656 Mines and Explosives in Yemen
Aden – The operations room of the Saudi-funded Masam demining project announced that its field teams have successfully removed 2,656 landmines, unexploded ordnance, and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) across Yemen from the beginning of December until the 19th of the month.
According to a statement released by Masam’s media office, the cleared items included 2,443 unexploded ordnance, 192 anti-tank mines, 8 anti-personnel mines, and 13 IEDs.
The statement further noted that during the past week alone, Masam teams dismantled 924 devices.
This included 864 unexploded ordnance, 56 anti-tank mines, one anti-personnel mine, and three IEDs, as part of ongoing efforts to secure areas affected by landmines and restore safety for civilians.
