Israeli media Reports 63 Houthi Missiles Launched from Yemen Toward Israel
Israeli public radio has revealed that 63 missiles have been launched by Yemen’s Houthi movement toward Israeli territory since the resuming of the Gaza war, marking a dramatic escalation in cross-border hostilities.
The report, citing military sources, underscores the growing threat posed by Iran-backed groups operating far beyond Israel’s immediate borders.
According to the broadcast, the missiles—ranging from short-range projectiles to advanced ballistic systems—were fired from Houthi-controlled areas in northern Yemen, with many targeting strategic sites such as Ben Gurion Airport, Eilat Port, and military bases in southern Israel. While most were intercepted by Israel’s air defense systems, several caused disruptions to air traffic and triggered nationwide alerts.
The Israeli military confirmed the latest incident on Tuesday, stating that a missile launched from Yemen was intercepted over central Israel, prompting sirens in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.
Houthi spokesperson Yahya Saree claimed responsibility, describing the attacks as part of a broader campaign in support of Palestinians in Gaza.
The UN has expressed concern over the widening scope of the conflict, urging restraint and protection of civilian infrastructure. Meanwhile, Israeli officials have vowed to intensify retaliatory measures, with Defense Minister Israel Katz warning that “Yemen’s fate will mirror that of any state that threatens Israel’s sovereignty.”
