Emirates Red Crescent Launches New School in Hadramout , Distributes School Kits in Hodeidah and Taiz
Aden — The Emirates Red Crescent has inaugurated a newly constructed primary school in Yemen’s Hadramout Governorate, marking a significant step in its ongoing efforts to support education and humanitarian development in the country.
The launch coincided with the rollout of the “School Bag Project” in the governorates of Hodeidah and Taiz, aimed at equipping students with essential supplies for the new academic year.
The new school, built to modern standards, is designed to accommodate hundreds of students and provide a safe, well-equipped learning environment in a region that has long suffered from infrastructure deficits due to conflict and instability.
Local officials and community leaders attended the opening ceremony, praising the initiative as a beacon of hope for families seeking quality education for their children.
Simultaneously, the School Bag Project distributed thousands of backpacks filled with notebooks, stationery, and hygiene items to students in Hodeidah and Taiz.
The initiative is part of a broader campaign by the UAE to enhance educational access and readiness across Yemen’s most vulnerable communities.
“These projects reflect our commitment to empowering Yemeni youth and rebuilding the educational sector,” said a spokesperson for the Emirates Red Crescent. “We believe that education is the cornerstone of recovery and resilience.”
The dual launch underscores the UAE’s continued role in humanitarian outreach across Yemen, particularly in sectors critical to long-term stability such as education, health, and infrastructure.
