Abyan, Yemen – A fire broke out at the Dofes Commercial Complex, located along the strategic Abyan–Aden highway, following a gas explosion at the facility’s fuel station, local authorities confirmed Tuesday.

Eyewitnesses reported hearing a loud blast before flames rapidly spread across parts of the complex, prompting emergency response teams to rush to the scene. 

Civil defense units and firefighters worked to contain the blaze and prevent further damage to nearby shops and infrastructure.

Initial investigations suggest the explosion originated from a malfunction in the gas station’s storage system, though officials have not yet released a detailed technical assessment. 

No casualties have been officially reported, but authorities are continuing to assess the impact and ensure public safety.

The Dofes Commercial Complex serves as a key retail and transit hub in the region, and the incident has raised concerns about safety protocols and infrastructure resilience along one of Yemen’s busiest commercial routes.
